Maura Shaftoe puts on the kind of performance you won’t be able to forget. Completely genuine and real, Maura has been known to bring concert goers to tears with her therapeutic lyrics. “The words I say, I say with intention and sincerity and authenticity,” Maura notes. Maura will be bringing her folksy/jazz hybrid to the stage, performing from her latest independently released album Make Me A Memory.

Joining Maura will be Fauna, the recent solo project of KW singer songwriter Alyse Johnston. Describing herself as a girl with too many feelings, Fauna is intentionally minimalist in her music. By singing over layers of electronic loops Fauna creates an otherworldly, bouncy sound that you won’t be able to get out of your head.

Behind Maura you’ll find Matthew Lima of Waterloo’s The Western Swing Authority on bass. Lima is known for his gifted touch on electric, fretless, and upright bass. John McClelland of Kitchener’s Phoenix Jazz Group will be on keys. The well-travelled McClelland is huge in the jazz world, with several international performances under his belt.

On Saturday October 27th, from 7:30 to 10:30, these awesome musicians will be performing at The Registry Theatre in Kitchener.
