If you live and work in KW then you’ve most likely spotted some of Amanda Matfin’s work around town. This badass girl boss, greenery designer, rock climber and lover of the outdoors has begun to blossom in the Region with her company Greenteriors. Even though Greenteriors is based out of Hamilton, she has been drawn in by our awesome cafes, growing tech scene and population of inspiring entrepreneurs. We actually met through last year’s Girl Boss event at Arabella Park!

Since the fall of 2016, Amanda has been exploring many different indoor greenery techniques and is continuously perfecting her art. The company began with the installation and maintenance of living walls however Amanda soon found that they were expensive, difficult to maintain and there were other ways to provide a similar feel to companies without the extensive cost and worry.

Her most recent installations are made from preserved moss which, true to its name, is preserved to avoid constant attention and maintenance. All of her products are Canadian sourced and preserved with natural oils which maintains their natural look and feel without the upkeep. These works of art truly transform a space, add an outdoor element (something that we seriously need more of) and create a centrepiece for your cafe, office, restaurant or home.

You know that awesome moss wall at the new Settlement Co. in Kitchener? Yep, that’s her.

Have you been in the D2L office in the Tannery? Shout out to Greenteriors!

She also has an amazing photo wall that can be customized and rented for events (perfect for selfies)... we were lucky enough to join her at the Hivex Conference in Hamilton and the One King Holiday Social and snapped some beauty shots by the wall.

Next time you’re in the Hammer (which should be ASAP because it’s awesome), check out some of her other works.
